Good evening everyone and thank you Shane for giving me the opportunity to share my story tonight.
I spent most of my life in hospital, it became like my second home. Five years ago I became very ill when I contracted a virus known as Mycoplasma Pneumonia which caused 75 % of my lungs to collapse. Even although I had a severely compromised immune system – the doctors had no choice but to put me on an extended and very strong course of antibiotics. After several weeks of fighting the mycoplasma, my immune system totally crashed and I began to suffer with severe chronic fatigue symptoms. I had a blood test and they revealed I was suffering from mycoplasma pneumonia, chlamydia pneumonia, six strains of coxsachie virus, Epstein-Barr virus and Candida. (not sure of the spellings !) I was diagnosed with full blown ME. After months of no improvement I became very depressed and had lost all hope of recovery. I remember lying in bed and thinking “what is the point of living”?
I began having monthly polygam infusions. This helped to stop the angels from fetching me before I was ready to leave. This treatment seemed to mask some of the symptoms but on blood test it was revealed that the viruses were still present and in fact having a monstrous party !
I became dependent on the infusions and treatment dates became closer together instead of further apart. It was then that my mother questioned the doctors as to what the next line of defense was and she was told there were no further options. We tried to consult with other specialists to cure the cause of the problem. After spending countless hours in doctors rooms – all the advice we got was and I quote “you are a mystery in a riddle” and you will just have to learn to live with it.
At this point I gave up and told my mom I did not want to live anymore. She physically shook me and told me we are gonna win this fight and beat the “fuglies” (anyone who does not know what this expression means will have to ask my mom as I am not allowed to swear !!) I saw something in her eyes that made me want to fight for my life and not leave her. It was at this point we heard about glyconutrients. When my mom came to me offering me a new cure and more pills and powders – my first thought was not more pills please !! Mom did not give up and began reading me stories and testimonials while I was in hospital and unable to escape, but she convinced me to give this stuff a try.
